The opportunity
We're looking for a commercially minded Marketing Manager to lead our small Marketing team and help shape the next stage of Arbil's development. This could suit an established Marketing Manager looking for greater influence, or a talented marketer already taking on management responsibility who is ready to make the next step. Arbil is an established specialist engineering business supplying lifting, hire and service solutions across construction, utilities, rail, manufacturing, defence and export markets. We're investing in new systems, better use of data and modernising how we work. We want someone who combines strong marketing fundamentals with CRM, SEO and digital capability, and who is excited by the practical opportunities AI and automation are creating for marketing.
The role
You'll lead our marketing activity and small established team, working closely with the Managing Director, Sales and wider management team. You'll be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering our marketing plan and budget.
- Leading, supporting and developing the Marketing team.
- Working closely with Sales and our BDMs to generate opportunities and support growth in our target markets.
- Developing our use of CRM for segmentation, campaigns, lead management and customer development.
- Improving our SEO, website performance and organic search visibility.
- Managing digital campaigns, email marketing, content and social media.
- Using data and analytics to understand what's working and improve marketing ROI.
- Making intelligent, practical use of AI and automation across marketing.
- Delivering exhibitions, customer events, supplier campaigns and product launches.
- Working with our key manufacturers and suppliers on joint marketing activity.
- Developing the Arbil brand and our customer and product communications.
We're also implementing Odoo, including new CRM and Marketing functionality. You'll be an important business user and have the opportunity to help shape how we use the system commercially.
About you
We're more interested in capability, potential and commercial thinking than finding someone who ticks every box. You'll probably have a strong background in B2B marketing and be comfortable operating in an engineering, manufacturing, industrial or similarly technical environment. We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:
- Good practical experience of CRM and digital marketing.
- An understanding of SEO, content and website optimisation.
- An interest in data, analytics and measuring marketing effectiveness.
- Confidence using AI tools, with curiosity about how they can improve marketing productivity and performance.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how Marketing supports Sales.
- The ability to lead, motivate and develop a small team.
- Confidence communicating with and influencing people across a business.
- A pragmatic, collaborative and hands-on approach.
You don't need experience in every area listed above. If you're a strong B2B marketer who has started leading people or projects and is ready for broader responsibility, we'd be very interested in hearing from you. Equally, if you're an experienced Marketing Manager looking for a role where you can have genuine influence and help shape the direction of an established SME, there's plenty of scope to make this role your own.
Why Arbil?
You'll be joining Arbil at an important point in our development. We're investing in technology, improving how we use data and developing how our teams work together. This is a visible role, a member of the senior management team and considerable freedom to influence our marketing approach. We offer a salary of £40,000–£55,000 depending on experience and capability, company benefits and hybrid working, with the expectation that you'll spend the majority of the working week with the team at our Lye headquarters. If you're a commercially focused B2B marketer who wants the opportunity to lead, develop and make a visible difference, we'd like to hear from you.
