Salary: £48,271 - £53,503 FTE (Actual salary for term time hours worked: £43,509 - £48,225)

Working Pattern: Term time plus 2 weeks to be worked in school holidays

Hours: 37 hours / week

Are you an experienced HR professional ready to make a significant impact to the lives of young people? Join our small but ambitious Multi-Academy Trust in this newly created role. You will help shape and strengthen HR practice across our schools, working closely with senior leaders and HR colleagues to deliver high-quality, pragmatic and people-focused support. Working as part of a supportive central HR team, you will play a key role in Trust growth, including supporting schools joining the Trust or accessing HR services through Service Level Agreements. This is a varied and rewarding role combining both strategic and operational responsibilities across a thriving school environment.

You will bring strong HR generalist experience, including managing complex employee relations, alongside a sound knowledge of employment law and effective HR practice. You will be confident influencing others, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach and a clear commitment to inclusion, wellbeing and continuous improvement. Experience within education is desirable but not essential.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or extensive equivalent professional experience
  • Significant HR generalist experience
  • Strong track record of managing complex employee relations cases
  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding
  • Experience of leading organisational change (with TUPE experience advantageous)
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Proficiency in using HR systems and producing workforce analytics
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and effective relationships at all levels
  • Ability to influence and challenge senior leaders constructively
  • Commitment to high standards, continuous improvement and collaborative working
  • Strong commitment to equity, inclusion and staff wellbeing

Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification
  • Experience working within the education sector, ideally within a Multi-Academy Trust
  • Knowledge of education sector terms and conditions
  • Understanding of safeguarding, safer recruitment and compliance requirements
