Job Role
We are currently looking to recruit installers to support our growing installation teams. We are hiring for two roles: Loft Installers and Habitable Room Ventilation Installers working across Kent and surrounding areas. The Loft Installer role focuses on the preparation of loft spaces and the installation of loft insulation materials to industry standards, ensuring all works meet energy efficiency and regulatory requirements. The Habitable Room Ventilation Installer role focuses on installing ventilation measures within properties to improve airflow and indoor air quality. This includes the installation of trickle vents, habitable room vents, and door undercuts in line with ventilation guidance and company procedures. Successful candidates will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality installations while maintaining strict health and safety standards. The company will provide the necessary training, tools, PPE, uniform, vehicle, and fuel card (company use only) for the successful candidates. Both roles require strong attention to detail and strict adherence to health and safety protocols. Strong customer service skills are essential, as installers will interact with customers and ensure a positive experience throughout the installation process. This includes communicating effectively with customers, addressing any queries or concerns, and providing updates on the progress of the work.
Key Responsibilities - Loft installer
- Prepare loft areas prior to installation, ensuring safe and suitable working conditions
- Clear loft spaces of old insulation materials and any obstructing items where required to allow for safe and effective installation
- Remove and dispose of old insulation materials in accordance with company procedures and environmental guidelines
- Take photographic evidence before, during, and after installation works to support compliance and quality assurance requirements
- Install loft insulation materials in accordance with industry standards and regulations
- Install or adjust loft ventilation where required to maintain adequate airflow
- Ensure installations meet quality, compliance, and energy efficiency standards
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently and on time
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues to the supervisor
- Follow instructions and guidelines to meet company and regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow
- Complete required paperwork and gather compliance-related evidence or information
- Communicate effectively with customers to ensure a positive experience throughout the installation process
Key Responsibilities – Ventilation Installer
- Install ventilation measures including trickle vents, habitable room vents, and door undercuts
- Assess rooms and identify suitable locations for ventilation improvements
- Carry out installations in accordance with ventilation guidance and company procedures
- Ensure works meet compliance and quality standards
- Take photographic evidence before, during, and after installation works
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow all health and safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members throughout the installation process
This job description aims to provide the post holder with an understanding of the anticipated role and the scope of duties and responsibilities involved. While it may not encompass every task, specific assignments and goals will be collaboratively established with the incumbent on a regular basis. The post holder will be expected to fulfil any additional reasonable duties as directed by the Contracts Manager to address the operational requirements of the organisation.
Criteria:
- Experience in an insulation operative role
- Knowledge of cavity wall and loft construction and materials
- An understanding of health and safety regulations related to cavity wall operations
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and clients
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
- Good time management skills - Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- High level of customer service
Licence/Certification:
- Driving License (required)
- CSCS card (preferred)
- NVQ level 2 (preferred)
