We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Freight Operations Executive, responsible for the end to end control of all shipments coming into and out of Road freight depot in Wednesbury. Highly focused, operational and administrative role so attention to detail is essential.
Job Description
- Manifest daily export trailers and send related pre-advices
- Scan all freight leaving the depot
- Update collection and delivery status in a timely manner
- Responsible for web bookings
- Monitor, chase and process all POD's ensuring timely updating of internal system
- Log and report outturn daily reports, cross referencing any discrepancies, completion of new job references, delivery notes and amending of job details within a 2-hour window
- All related administrative activities in the Roadfreight department
- Contact hauliers to provide quotations for special collections/deliveries
- Relay accurate details for each trailer to our internal customs team to allow them to create transit documents for each trailer
- Ensure that each driver has the correct transit documents to enable them to comply with customs regulations at each port.
- Monitor and deal with transport queries by liaising with other depots
- Check that collections are clear and populate the planning sheet
- Responsible for creation and issuing of run sheets detailing all collections and deliveries
- Work with warehouse and transport teams to ensure smooth and efficient movement of all shipments
- Customer service - dealing with queries from customers, subcontractors and drivers and assist in their enquiries via face-to-face, phone and email, ensuring satisfactory and timely resolution
- Data entry with attention to detail
- Transport planning for some day collections
- Adding accruals
- Creating movements for subcontractors
Job Requirements - Experience and Education
- 1-2 years of relevant working experience in the Freight Forwarding industry
- Experience in operations and broad knowledge of regulations
- Cargowise experience preferred
- Excellent MS office skills: Word, Excel and Power Point
- Good commands in professional emails writing
