Job Description:

Purpose of the Job:

Responsible for end-to-end control of all shipments coming into and out of the Roadfreight depot in Trafford Park. Supervisory and management responsibilities for team members. A highly focused, administrative role requiring attention to detail.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise a team of Freight Operations Executives.
  2. Act as the first point of escalation for department issues, providing detailed explanations and resolutions.
  3. Liaise between the local transport provider and job owners for smooth transfer of information regarding local collections and deliveries.
  4. Accept bookings onto the internal Aramex system via the portal.
  5. Create and issue delivery manifests, assign to correct hauliers daily.
  6. Monitor, chase, and process all PODs, ensuring timely system updates.
  7. Log and report inbound trailer outturns, providing updates and missing delivery notes.
  8. Accept EDI transfers for trailers arriving from Germany, book deliveries, and communicate with transport.
  9. Request quotations from hauliers for outside-service requirements.
  10. Ensure shipments are assigned correct clearance manifests for customs.
  11. Update the Linehaul department on freight volumes for effective trailer planning.
  12. Book export space from Trafford Park to Belfast.
  13. Handle customer, subcontractor, and driver queries via phone and email.
  14. Accurate data entry and maintenance of daily shipment reports, including extra charges.
  15. Ensure Trafford Park operations pass internal compliance reports.

Additional Requirements:

  • Perform other duties as assigned, based on experience or training.
  • Participate in performance appraisal and objective setting.
  • Adhere to all company policies, including Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information.
  • Apply the company’s Business Plan in development activities.

Job Requirements – Experience and Education:

  • Proven supervisory skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Highly organized and team-oriented.
  • Deadline-driven, flexible, adaptable, quick learner.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of European groupage advantageous.
