Please note that this role is based in Saudi Arabia on a permanent, residential basis. We are seeking an Upstream Strategy Consultant to join our Upstream Transformation & Business Excellence Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides strategic guidance and direction to senior leadership on Upstream business development and growth opportunities.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of the organization's Upstream portfolio and market trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Assesses the competitiveness and viability of existing and potential Upstream assets to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Performs analysis of market data and industry benchmarks to identify opportunities for growth and improvement in Upstream operations.
- Leads the development of strategic plans and roadmaps for Upstream business units, aligning with corporate objectives and priorities.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate Upstream strategy with other business functions, such as operations and finance.
- Evaluates and recommends strategic investments and partnerships to drive business growth and expansion in the Upstream sector.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including external partners and industry experts, to stay informed about market developments and best practices.
- Provides thought leadership and expertise on Upstream strategy and industry trends to support business decision-making and drive strategic growth.
- Explores new revenue streams to drive business growth and improvement.
- Develops and maintains a robust governance framework to ensure strategic initiatives are properly managed and executed.
- Facilitates and leads strategic planning sessions and workshops to align stakeholders and drive business outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in an engineering field from an accredited university.
- MBA from a reputable business school is required.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the energy industry or in a top-tier consulting firm working on energy industry related projects.
- Well-rounded knowledge of Upstream business and operations.
- Experience in strategy development & business transformation are required.
- In-depth knowledge of the oil and gas industry, including: trends, challenges, and regulations.
