We are seeking a Project Support Engineer to join the Saudi Aramco Loss Prevention organization (LP), which is the corporate safety organization within Saudi Aramco. LP is responsible for providing both day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to Saudi Aramco operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting function.

Your primary role is to work with key stakeholder organizations to provide technical guidance on facility design requirements pertaining to fire prevention and process safety engineering areas, including but not limited to:

  • Firewater systems
  • Fireproofing
  • Emergency shutdown systems
  • Drainage systems
  • Tank designs
  • Electrical classifications
  • Pipeline design factors
  • Equipment access and layout
  • Spacing and risk areas

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and develop procedures for all Company organizations on fire prevention and safety in facilities design and related operational requirements.
  • Review new projects to ensure conformance to Engineering Standards, representing LP at project proposal meetings, followed by continuing guidance through design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Provide companywide technical guidance and assistance during technical fire/safety in design-related surveys of Saudi Aramco facilities for adequacy of design, operations, and maintenance.
  • Initiate and participate in studies to resolve problems outside currently available technology.
  • Participate on task forces and study groups assigned to resolve specific problems.
  • Use hazard analysis techniques to identify corporate risk exposure and develop cost-effective countermeasures.
  • Assist in surveys of Saudi Aramco operations by insurance, government, and other outside agencies, as the Company's expert on fire prevention and B Series Standard requirements.
  • Mentor other LP personnel.

As the successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and have 10+ years of relevant industry experience, 5 of which focused on addressing technical safety and fire prevention engineering issues. A Professional Engineering certification in Fire Protection or an advanced degree is highly desirable but not required.

You will have an excellent ability to communicate in English with peers as well as members of management, and be able to produce clear and concise reports in English.
