We are seeking an International Media Relations Specialist to join the Media Relations Division (MRD) at Saudi Aramco. The Media Relations Division (MRD) sits within the Media Communications & Coordination Department (MCCD), and it is responsible for the Company’s communication with journalists and global media outlets.

Your primary role would be to lead the development of press releases, cultivate and develop relationships with journalists and media organizations, arrange media interviews, prepare executives for media interactions, identify and assess opportunities for media engagement, organize and manage media visits, pitch ideas and potential stories to journalists, and help execute the company’s media activities in alignment with the broader corporate communications strategy.

As part of this dynamic team, the International Media Relations Specialist would be actively involved in media activities that help maintain and enhance the company’s reputation in key markets.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:

  • Build, maintain, and actively manage relationships with journalists and media outlets, including Tier 1 international titles, trade and special-interest publications (covering print, online and broadcast channels).
  • Provide functional support and advice to senior leaders on strategic media issues.
  • Contribute to crisis communication and response management.
  • Support the Company’s quarterly results announcements, including media calls and interviews.
  • Prepare media plans, communications briefings and Q&A documents for executives.

  • Respond effectively to media inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Develop materials that effectively communicate Aramco’s strategic objectives to global media.
  • Identify potential opportunities to engage with media on high-value projects.
  • Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders within the company, to support the International Media Relations Unit’s objectives.
  • Collaboration with Media Relations colleagues to enable effective project delivery.
  • Ensure project alignment with Aramco’s strategic objectives and Corporate Communications strategy.
  • Operate under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Evaluate project effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Resolve problems and overcome day-to-day challenges as they arise.
  • Adapt to changing needs and priorities, including shifting deadlines and evolving expectations.
  • Manage projects from initiation to completion.
  • Follow internal policies and procedures relevant to the work.
Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the fields of journalism or communications from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in journalism, media relations or corporate communications, gained in either an agency or in-house corporate setting — ideally with previous experience in the energy sector.
