Location: Officers’ Mess/Sergeants’ Mess, Somme Barracks, DL9 4LD

Pay: £13.83 per hour (£28,864.87 per annum)

Hours: Permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7 (includes some weekends)

Shift times: Earlies/Lates - alternate weeks. Earlies 06:45 – 13:15, Lates 14:30 – 21:00 with occasional absence cover and functions.

Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Chef Supervisor to join our team working at Somme Barracks. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supporting and leading kitchen staff, and ensuring the smooth function of the unit.

To be eligible for this role, due to the sector requirements:

  • You must have lived in the UK for the past 3 years and have a legal right to work.
  • You must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

What you’ll do:

  • Working with a team of chefs and kitchen assistants, delivering around 1000 meals, 3 times a day.
  • You will be supervising in the kitchen unit.
  • You will be responsible for the preparation of basic quality foods within a set pre-ordered menu.
  • Ensuring the kitchen is clean and tidy, and all stock checks are conducted correctly.
  • Completing all relevant paperwork and due diligence forms.
  • Handle customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Undertake relevant training as required.

What we’re looking for:

  • Must have resided in the UK for the past 3 years and have legal right to work.
  • Must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Applicants must have one of the following qualifications or equivalent: BSC (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ level 2 and 3.
  • Knowledge of health and safety CIEH level 2 qualification or equivalent.
