Aramark UK is recruiting a dedicated and experienced Chef to join our team at Uppingham School, one of the UK’s top independent schools located in the beautiful countryside of Rutland.
Based in one of the school’s 15 boarding houses, you’ll take the lead in a small kitchen, preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for approximately 75–80 students. This role offers the perfect mix of autonomy, stability, and career growth within a well-established and supportive environment.

What you’ll be doing:
- Take full ownership of daily kitchen operations in your assigned boarding house
- Prepare and serve high-quality meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Assist in leading and supporting a small kitchen team, promoting a positive and efficient working environment
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, quality, and presentation
- Manage ordering, stock control, deliveries, and kitchen administration
- Ensure compliance with food safety legislation and follow daily/weekly cleaning routines
- Work as part of a 7-day rota, including some weekends
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- The legal right to work in the UK and UK residency for the past 5 years (required for enhanced DBS and security vetting)
- Relevant culinary qualifications or substantial experience in a similar high-volume chef role
- Experience supervising or leading a team in a kitchen environment
- A flair for producing consistently high-quality meals with creativity and care
- Excellent people skills – confident, positive, and capable of motivating others
