We are currently looking to hire flexible catering assistants who can work in a variety of locations across Scotland. You could earn £385 for a 3‑day weekend camp. The camp consists of between 50 to 200 cadets and would be staffed with 1‑4 personnel depending on numbers. A general 3‑day camp involves travel to the camp with stores, a late evening meal on the first day, a full‑service second day, and breakfast and lunch on the last day.

Applicants must have good all‑round kitchen skills and an understanding of all health and safety associated within a kitchen. You must be eligible to work in the UK, have resided in-country for more than three years, and undergo security checks. Basic Disclosure Scotland is required or you must be willing to obtain one.

What you will do

  • Assist the STC team in running standalone camp kitchens and ensuring an excellent dining experience for cadet training camps.
  • Stock up, rotate stock, face up, and spot‑clean kitchen areas.
  • Clean dining and serving areas, both front and back of house.
  • Load and unload deliveries.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen and all appliances and crockery.
  • Complete all relevant kitchen paperwork.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the UK and have resided for longer than 3 years.
  • Relevant kitchen experience and a passion for food and service.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to hours and duties.
  • Basic Disclosure Scotland or willingness to obtain.
  • Security clearance checks are required due to the nature of the sites.
