A day in the life of a Till Assistant:
- Greet guests warmly and provide a positive first point of contact
- Handle customer enquiries, help with menu items, and provide information on promotions or specials
- Resolve basic customer concerns or escalate issues to a supervisor when necessary
- Operate the till/POS system accurately for cash, card, voucher, and digital payments
- Process sales transactions swiftly, ensuring accuracy in pricing and totals
- Issue receipts, handle returns or exchanges following company policy
- Maintain responsible cash handling practices, including counting and balancing the till at the start and end of shifts
- Keep the till area clean, organised, and presentable
- Assist with queue management during busy periods
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth overall operations
- Support other front-of-house tasks when required, such as seating guests, serving, or helping with takeaways
