Food Service Assistant
Location: University of Derby, Cavendish Building, 1 Agard Street, Derby, DE1 1DZ
Contract: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday | No weekends
Working Hours: Between 8:00am – 3:30pm
Hourly Rate: Β£12.21

What You\’ll Be Doing:

  • Preparing food, including freshly made sandwiches, and serving customers at the counter and till.
  • Supporting stock management by helping to put away deliveries and ensuring effective stock rotation.
  • Keeping retail fridges well-stocked and presentable at the front of house.
  • Assisting in cleaning kitchen and front-of-house sections to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Operating the dishwasher and supporting general kitchen cleanliness as needed.
  • Participating in monthly stock takes as part of the wider team.

  • Previous experience in a food service or catering environment.
  • Basic food hygiene and allergen awareness training.
  • A strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support others.
