Location: Redford Barracks, Edinburgh, EH13 0PP

Pay: £14.00 per hour (£25,567.22)

Hours: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week. 5 days over 7 (alternate weekends)

Shifts: Early (06:00-13:30) or Late (11:30-19:00)

Working closely with the Catering Manager, ensuring menus are followed correctly and high standards of food are being served, ensuring every dish is exceptional.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead kitchen operations when the Head Chef is away.
  • Prepare dishes to spec, following recipe sheets and allergen guidelines.
  • Manage food production, reduce waste, and maintain stock control.
  • Receive and store deliveries using FIFO procedures.
  • Allocate tasks and mentor the kitchen team.
  • Maintain hygiene standards and oversee deep cleans.
  • Ensure all team members are trained and compliant.

What we’re looking for:

  • UK residency for the past 3 years and legal right to work.
  • Ability to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
  • Strong Leadership, kitchen management, and culinary skills.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced kitchen environment with high volume customers SVQ Level 2&3.
  • Calm under pressure, organised, and ready for a trade test.
