We are recruiting a Steward to join our team working at Baker Barracks, Thorney Island, PO10 8DH. You will be responsible for contributing to the provision of a quality bar service within the barracks in one of the 3 bars onsite.
To be eligible for this role, due to the sector requirements, you must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and have the legal right to work in the UK and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
What we offer:
- This is a permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 (which includes some weekends) on a three-weekly rota.
- Shifts are Earlies 06:30 β 14:00, Lates 11:30 β 19:00 and Bar 15:30 β 23:00.
- The hourly rate is Β£12.21.

A day in the life of a Steward:
- Taking food and drink orders and service and clearing plates from the customer for three meals a day.
- Serving beverages and bar snack items to customers (one week out of three).
- Cash handling and till operation.
- Occasional bar work; General housekeeping, including kitchen cleaning, pot wash, and dishwashing.
- Stocking up and stock rotation using the FIFO method.
- Report to line manager for any feedback, complaints, suggestions, stock needs, breakages, faults, or hazards identified during your shift.
- Duties may be changed to meet the changing needs and requirements of the company.
You will be set up for success if you have:
- Been resident in the UK for the past 3 years and have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Can pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
- Similar work experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Reliable transport since the nearest public services (bus stop) is more than 1.5 miles to the site.
