Aramark UK is currently recruiting an experienced Chef Manager to join our team of 3 staff working at British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the unit, supporting our chef in preparing meals, delegating tasks to your team, and leading your team to success.

  • This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week (Mon - Fri). Shifts range between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., leaving your evenings freeβ€”a rarity in hospitality.

A day in the life of a Chef Manager:

  • Preparing hot and cold food for breakfast, salads, and hot counters during breakfast and lunch.
  • Organizing and coordinating hospitality services, leading the team to ensure tasks are allocated and food prep is in line with recipes and brand standards.
  • Managing stock flow, rotation, placing orders, stock takes, and back-office paperwork.
  • Handling customer complaints as needed.
  • Training and coaching team members to meet procedures and standards, ensuring ongoing development.
  • Building client relationships and presenting monthly operational and financial performance reports.

You will be set up for success if you have:

  • Ability to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
  • Relevant culinary qualification and previous experience, ideally within a Business and Industry environment.
  • Good PC skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of financial processing, P&L, and stocktaking.
