Aramark UK is currently recruiting an experienced Catering Assistant in their Healthcare sector to join our team.

You will assist with the production of hot and cold food, deli grab & go items, and serve at the hot food counter during breakfast and lunchtime, providing excellent customer care and ensuring all Health and Safety regulations are followed.

Our client is a Christian charity committed to meeting human needs without discrimination. The site offers services supporting addiction, mental health, homelessness, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

This role requires a candidate who is strong-willed, empathetic, socially aware, and comfortable working in a challenging environment that accepts people from all walks of life.

A day in the life of a Cook

  • Preparing hot and cold food, serving breakfast, main meals, and desserts in a canteen environment within a homeless hostel.
  • Serving on the hot counter, monitoring dish levels, and maintaining Food Safety standards.
  • Placing orders, performing stock takes, managing deliveries, and deep cleaning.
  • Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed.

You will be set up for success if you have:

  • Relevant cookery/culinary qualification preferred; previous catering experience (minimum 2 years) considered.
  • Food hygiene Level 2 desirable, obtainable via our online e-learning portal.
  • DBS checks required before starting.
