Location: HMP Parc, Bridgend, CF35 6AP

Pay: £14.66 per hour

Contract type: Permanent, full‑time, 35 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (with alternate weekends off)

Shift times: Between 7am and 6pm – great work‑life balance

Role: Responsible for leading kitchen operations, supervising chefs and inmates, and ensuring the unit runs smoothly, safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and supporting chefs and inmates to deliver meals three times a day.
  • Preparing and serving quality food within a pre‑ordered menu structure.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and compliance.
  • Completing relevant paperwork and due diligence accurately.
  • Supporting a positive kitchen culture and confidently managing challenges when they arise.
  • Completing any required training to support the role.

Qualifications:

  • UK residency for the past 5 years with legal right to work.
  • Ability to pass full DBS and security vetting.
  • Previous supervisory or team‑leading experience.
  • Relevant culinary qualification.
  • Effective communication skills and a calm, professional approach.
