Location: HMP Parc & YOI, Bridgend, CF35 6AP
Salary: £24,471.48 per annum
Contract type: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week, 5 days over 7, including alternate weekends
Shift times: between 6:00am and 4:30pm
This is a brilliant opportunity for a reliable, motivated individual who enjoys being active, working as part of a team, and delivering an essential service — all within family friendly daytime hours. You’ll play a key role in ensuring meals are delivered safely and efficiently across the site, supporting both the kitchen and wider catering operation.
What you'll do:
- Receiving, checking, and organising deliveries
- Collecting and transporting food trolleys
- Maintaining a clean and safe delivery area
- Delivering meals around the outskirts of the prison using a 7.5 tonne vehicle
- Working closely with the kitchen team to deliver meals three times per day
- Ensuring accurate stock rotation using the FIFO method.
What we’re looking for:
- Category C1 driving licence (including grandfather rights where applicable)
- Ability to pass DBS and HMPPS vetting (no prior criminal record required)
- Physically fit and comfortable handling hot food trolleys and tail lift vehicles
- A positive, proactive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- UK residency for 5+ years with valid right to work
