The predicted salary is between 14700 - 25000 £ per year.
While working under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will perform daily building maintenance duties including, but not limited to, plumbing leaks and stoppages, lighting repairs/replacement, minor electrical replacements, minor HVAC troubleshooting and reporting, structural component repairs (carpentry), painting, furniture assembly and repair, and general duties.
Responsibilities
- Inspect assigned buildings on a routine basis and perform maintenance where necessary while keeping facilities in serviceable condition.
- Report major maintenance needs to the Zone Maintenance supervisor for referral to shop crafts or other corrective actions as necessary.
- Perform stand‑by duty call on a regular call basis and respond to after‑hours and weekend emergency call‑backs.
- Repair various fixtures, hardware, and facilities as required such as door locks and hardware, broken window panes, minor plumbing, minor electrical circuits and appliances, office equipment or furniture, faucets and valves, shower grouting, floor and ceiling tiles, and other necessary maintenance duties.
- Safely operate a service truck (pick‑up, mini truck, or gator) on a college campus.
- Communicate effectively with customers, clients, co‑workers, and supervision.
- Be able to lift or move heavy objects up to 80 lbs and work standing for extended periods, up to 12 hours in various positions.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Interact and possess communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Attend safety meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Valid PA driver’s license.
- Three (3) years in building maintenance trades.
- Able and willing to work in inclement weather.
- Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems and general carpentry.
- Full range of mobility outdoors, indoors, and in confining areas, using stairs, ramps, or ladders.
- Must comply with all applicable safety and local regulations, standards, and procedures.
Physical Demands
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or personal protective equipment (PPE).
