Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of fresh products including breads, rolls, pastries, cakes, and desserts to required standards
- Ensure all food produced meets UK School Food Standards, including nutritional balance and portion control
- Manage allergen requirements and produce suitable baked goods for pupils with specific dietary needs
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar food production role, ideally within schools or contract catering
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, batch production, and product consistency
- Understanding of UK School Food Standards and commitment to healthy, nutritious food
- Sound awareness of food safety, hygiene regulations, and allergen management (including Natasha’s Law)
- Ability to work efficiently to tight deadlines in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
- High attention to detail in quality, presentation, portion control, and cleanliness
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a positive and professional attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding, professionalism, and appropriate conduct within a school setting
