Your Aramark journey starts here. Aramark UK are currently looking for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced Chef working in conjunction with the Group Executive Chef to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of in-house food at this independent school based in Uppingham, Rutland, LE15 9QE.
Uppingham – Uppingham School is an Independent School that has numerous locations throughout the town. There are 15 boarding houses in total & 2 Hub kitchens across the site, some houses have in-house Chefs. The required role would be based in the single house.

A day in the life of a Boarding House Chef:
- You will take responsibility for the overall kitchen operation feeding 75-80 students per day, oversee the general production of Breakfast, lunch and dinner service. You will also ensure that first-class service is delivered throughout.
- To maintain food hygiene, service & presentation to a high standard, guiding your team and offering support where necessary.
- You will support with managing the P&L and all associated financials. You will be required to place orders and manage deliveries, ensuring all stock is stored correctly and all relevant paperwork and admin tasks are completed.
- To manage and carry out daily and weekly cleaning schedules, delegating tasks to the team in order to cover the daily cleaning tasks of the kitchen unit. You will also ensure compliance of all processes and procedures.
- You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including weekend work.
You will be set up for success if you:
- Have resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have legal right to work.
- Are able to pass full security vetting and enhanced DBS checks.
- Have the relevant culinary qualifications or experience.
- Have proven experience in a role as Chef, being able to demonstrate a track record of catering for large numbers but at the same time making each event individual.
- Have a 'big personality'. Great people skills and be able to lead, develop, train and inspire your team.
