About the Relief Chef role
Ensuring tasks are appropriately allocated so teams are fully utilised and food preparation activities delivered using standard recipes and in line with Aramark brand standards. Responsible for efficient execution and delivery of all food line products in line with the daily menu. Maintaining integrity of the standard Aramark food offer, ensuring food quality and integrity of items. Accountability for stock flow and rotation of product within the unit.
A Day in the Life
- Working in a large kitchen or multiple kitchens with a team of Chefs and Assistants.
- Ensuring tasks are allocated so teams are fully utilised and food preparation activities delivered using standard recipes and in line with Aramark brand standards.
- Responsible for efficient execution and delivery of all food line products in line with the daily menu.
- Maintaining food quality and ensuring integrity of items.
- Accountability for stock flow and rotation of product within the unit.
Responsibilities
- Prepare basic quality foods within a set pre-ordered menu.
- Collaborate with a team of Chefs.
- Motivational and maintain a positive outlook.
- Display excellent attention to detail.
- Work alongside prisoners to support them in production and cooking of food for up to 2000 prisoners.
Requirements
- Chef experience.
- Own reliable transportation with business insurance.
- Lived in the UK for 5+ years with valid right to work and able to pass security vetting.
- Flexible team player who does not mind travelling and overnight stays, if required.
- Must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have legal right to work and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

- Full‑time position, £16.15 per hour, 35 hours per week, 5 days over 7 (no late evenings).
- Travel time as well as mileage paid.
- Incentive bonus of one full week pay after 6 months (to be paid back if you leave within 12 months).
- This is a full‑time permanent role, no rota system as it is to cover holiday and sickness and varying sites.
