Aramark UK are on the lookout for a talented Sous Chef to join our buzzing team at Northwood HQ — a site with three busy kitchens and a whole lot of variety. No two days are the same, and this role offers culinary excitement with work-life balance.

At Northwood, you will help lead a high-performing kitchen where pace, teamwork, and creativity come together. You’ll take charge of daily operations when the Head Chef is off-site, producing up to 300 meals at a time and keeping service running smoothly. Organization, calmness under pressure, and a passion for great food are key.

Security Requirements

  • Be able to pass full security vetting and an enhanced DBS check

  • A rare schedule in hospitality: 40 hours per week, 5 days a week, with Sous Chef hours typically Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30, overseeing lunch service — giving you your evenings back.

A Day in the Life / Responsibilities
  • Lead kitchen shifts in the Head Chef's absence, producing up to 1000 meals during peak times
  • Motivate, organise, and support the wider team to deliver smooth, efficient service
  • Prepare dishes to spec with full understanding of menu and allergen requirements
  • Manage production levels, minimise waste, place orders, and maintain accurate stock records
  • Receive and store deliveries using FIFO standards
  • Champion high cleaning and hygiene standards through regular deep cleans
  • Ensure staff are trained, confident, and set up to shine in their roles
Qualifications & Experience
  • A relevant culinary qualification
  • Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior CDP ready for the next step
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform under pressure
  • The required residency, right to work, and ability to pass security vetting
