ARAG UK has an excellent opportunity for a Risk Officer to join our Risk Management department in Bristol on a 12‑14 month secondment basis. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of ARAG UK’s risk framework, working closely with the Risk Manager(s), risk team, and wider business to help identify, assess, and monitor key risks across all business areas. You will provide risk assurance, constructive challenge, and help build a risk‑aware culture while supporting regulatory compliance and strategic decision‑making.
Responsibilities
- Support confident commercial decision‑making through first‑line risk identification, measurement, management, monitoring, and reporting processes.
- Review and challenge the business’s management of key risk types.
- Support colleagues to identify, assess, and manage risk events within their business.
- Contribute to strategic planning and operational decision‑making, helping to embed a risk‑aware culture across the organisation.
- Deliver focused risk oversight in specific areas and apply modern best practices in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Prior experience in overseeing and running day‑to‑day risk management processes and materials (e.g., risk registers, risk reporting, risk event triage).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Able to engage stakeholders early and help shape decision‑making.
- Qualification in risk management would be advantageous, and we are open to supporting candidates developing their careers within risk.
