As a result, we're looking for someone to join us as a Senior Associate in our Contract Disputes team, who sit within the wider Volume Litigation department.
As a Senior Associate, you'll gain valuable experience by managing your own caseload end-to-end in a commercial manner, either through the courts and litigation or the use of mediation and other ADR techniques. In addition, you'll ensure the early assessment of the prospects of success of each claim, and that the claim is handled throughout in accordance with the requirements of our client's legal expenses insurance policy. You'll also help to drive a culture of effective and efficient case handling, take personal ownership of customer problems until resolution, work to deliver SLA's, KPI's financial & performance targets, and share knowledge and best practice with your wider team.
This is a hybrid role - minimum 2 days per week in our Bristol office (5 minutes' walk from Bristol Temple Meads station). The role is ideally full-time, but we can also consider part-time options (min. 4 days a week, or the equivalent hours).
We are keen to hear from you if you are a highly motivated legal professional with previous experience dealing with Contract Disputes, and a genuine passion for going the extra mile to ensure excellent customer outcomes. Whilst extremely rewarding, due to the nature of our customers' concerns this role can occasionally be quite sensitive and challenging, and you should therefore be resilient and motivated to provide a high-quality performance, in a busy, fast paced environment.
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Practitioner
- Exceptional communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver against deadlines, KPI's and SLA's.
- Proactive approach to managing your own caseload to a high standard.
- Clear and demonstrable understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct.
- Ability to work highly collaboratively, with exceptional client care skills.
- Negotiation skills, analytical and proactive approach to problem solving.
As a team we are passionate and enthusiastic about what we do. Our people are encouraged to think independently and to take ownership of their work. Only a 5-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station we have newly refurbished, modern city centre offices. Our staff are at the heart of everything we do, and we encourage our people to work flexibly and achieve a work-life balance that works for them. You'll work a hybrid model (after your initial training period is complete) and we can offer you generous remuneration and an attractive benefits package that includes:
- 27 days holiday, with the option to buy up to a further 5 days
- Private Medical Insurance
- Company Pension Scheme with the option to increase contributions
- Group Income Protection and Group Legal Protection for all employees
