About the team:

Our Employment Law team manage all aspects of employment law, from advising an employee on pursuing an unfair dismissal claim, or a claim for unpaid wages, to defending claims of whistleblowing and discrimination on behalf of respondents. As well as acting for employees and employers during the litigation process, they also provide advisory HR services such as drafting contracts and policies or guiding and supporting businesses through the complexity of employment law requirements.

About the role:

We are looking for someone to join us as an Employment Associate, to handle a variety of employment work, from initial referral to conclusion. This will involve non-contentious work, such as advice on settlement agreement terms, drafting and negotiation of settlement agreements, contracts of employment and handbooks and policies. We drive a culture of effective and efficient case handling, so you will ensure our customers always receive the highest standard of service, and you will adhere to regulatory and company processes, whilst considering the cost aspects. There is an established pipeline of work available, and this is a great opportunity to raise your individual and business profile. You can also look forward to being part of a team who boast a wealth of experience, unrivalled support and opportunities for you to grow and develop, which are actively encouraged.

This role can be a hybrid role – minimum 2 days per week in the office - if you live within a commutable distance of either our Bristol City Centre office or our Bedwas office in South Wales. However, we will also consider fully remote candidates if you live too far away to commute – this will be dependent upon your experience level and ability to work remotely.

About You:

We are keen to hear from you if you have sound experience in Employment Litigation, and can demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience of contentious and non-contentious Employment Litigation work (essential).
  • Good working knowledge of Employment Law and procedures.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience of, or a strong desire to assist in business development.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver against deadlines, KPIs and SLAs.
  • Proactive approach to managing your own caseload to a high standard.
  • Clear and demonstrable understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to work highly collaboratively, with exceptional client care skills.

If you are keen to become part of our exciting future, then we would love to hear from you!

  • Company Pension Scheme with the option to increase contributions
  • Group Income Protection for all employees
  • Group Legal Protection for all employees

  • Inclusion in our Health Cash Plan
  • Access to our Employee Discounts Hub offering exclusive discounts across thousands of retail partners, including discounted gym memberships at over 3,000 gyms across the UK
