Who we are: The Employment Team is made up of over 40 fee earners with a range of experience from Paralegals to Senior Associates. We are a dedicated and hard-working team and we work in a friendly environment with regular monthly social outings. We have a strong values culture, which means you will be closely supported and mentored by your colleagues, learning to provide consistent and outstanding service to your clients.

What do we do? The Employment department deals with all aspects of employment law which is predominantly focussed on litigation and some elements of advisory work for both employees and employers. The type of work the team deals with on a day-to-day basis includes advising on unfair dismissal claims, discrimination and whistle blowing. The work is very varied and no one case is the same as another. As well as acting for employees and employers during the litigation process we also provide advisory HR services, such as advising on employee handbooks and the drafting of employment contracts to support and guide businesses through the complexity of employment law requirements. Where appropriate, the team also deals with its own advocacy. We encourage early responsibility with a real emphasis on creating opportunities to promote our lawyers from within the team. This means you will gain real “hands on” experience across a broad range of claims and defences and will become an expert on employment law and negotiation and settlement tactics.

About You We would like to hear from candidates with employment litigation experience who can demonstrate the following knowledge and experience:

  • Excellent working knowledge of employment law and procedure;
  • The ability to run a caseload; and
  • Excellent client care skills.
