Araceli Biosciences seeks an experienced Field Service Engineer (FSE) focused on installations, upgrades, technical support, and repairs of in‑field hardware systems. The role involves hands‑on work with high‑content imaging microscopes and related peripherals across laboratory sites in Europe and occasionally the United States.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on highly complex imaging microscopes and peripheral equipment.
- Troubleshoot software issues pertaining to firmware, operating system or other software tools used by Araceli.
- Implement best practices for customer support interactions.
- Interact with leading scientists in drug discovery as you enable technology advancements in laboratories.
- Collaborate with the team to diagnose and repair all types of customer issues, including hardware, software and system networking to ensure minimal system downtime.
- Assist in developing work instructions for fellow FSEs on service tools, repair, and installation.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation of customer interactions, service activities, and technical issues using CRM and other relevant systems.
- Maintain regular communication with customers.
- Propose process improvements to enhance the customer experience.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in field service and/or manufacturing in the biotech or life science industry.
- Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to explain complicated technical information in simple terms.
- Experience with microscopy equipment is preferred.
- Availability for local travel (up to daily) and overnight travel (up to 70% of the time).
- Regular travel to customer sites across continental Europe, the United Kingdom, and the Nordic countries.
- Occasional travel to the United States for training and integration.
- Must maintain a valid passport and driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, squatting, and standing are required.
Location
The ideal locations for this job are within Germany and the UK. Candidates must be within reasonable transportation time to a major train station or airport.
