Main Tasks and Responsibilities:- Lead and oversee the steel structure discipline within the “Arabelle Solutions” Site Technical Office based at the Hinkley Point C site in the United Kingdom.
- Monitor the steel structure contractor on site on a daily basis and respond to technical questions (Technical Queries – TQ).
- Coordinate responses with the steel structure design office based in Italy and the layout team based in France.
- Implement on site the design change requests issued by the project (Design Change Request – DCR) through the preparation of Field Site Instructions (FSI).
- Coordinate input data among the various stakeholders: general layout & structure & piping teams, steel structure design office, steel structure supplier, and erection contractor.
- Manage BIM “IFC” files using Navisworks Manage (clash detection, design verification, progress monitoring, etc.).
- Manage project documents and deliverables using the “Master Tracking Application” (MTA): deliverables schedule, reporting, etc.
The site-based civil engineer reports functionally to the Civil Engineering Department Manager and operationally to the Site Manager.
Education and Experience:- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Strong experience in a civil engineering design office for industrial projects, ideally in the energy sector.
- Dynamic, rigorous, and methodical.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit.
- High level of autonomy.
- Proactive and capable of making decisions.
- Proficiency with codes and standards such as Eurocodes and the International Building Code (IBC).
- 2D CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent).
- Knowledge of BIM software (TEKLA, REVIT, BIM Vision, Navisworks Manage).
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent command of English required (reading / writing / speaking).
