Due to continued growth we are delighted to announce we are seeking a technically focused Mechanical Engineer to join our Retrofit team based in Rugby. In this role you will work with world‑class nuclear steam turbines – industry‑leading equipment in terms of performance, availability and power – and play a central role in mechanical engineering design development.
Under the responsibility of the Turbine Retrofit Concept Leader, you will coordinate the production of Retrofit Steam Turbine Concepts, supporting the Application Engineer during the concept development phase of Retrofit projects. You will coordinate design work as part of a multidisciplinary international steam turbine department, integrating the Retrofit steam path with the rotor and stationary equipment to provide the required concept solutions that match the customer's needs. You will support concept‑solution development (mechanical design, thermodynamics, mechanical calculations) and provide data to enable the Application Engineer to generate costs for the Retrofit Solution.
Working collaboratively with various departments across the business, you will support the projects until the concept is mature and validated, and then hand them over to the execution engineering team.
