The Arabelle steam turbine is the most advanced of its kind, and the company provides turbine island lifecycle support solutions for all nuclear reactor types, improving power output, reducing environmental footprint, and lowering operational cost.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Parts Technology Technician/Engineer to join our Parts Technology department based in Rugby. This team has global responsibility for the installed GE/Alstom Legacy Turbine fleet. You will work as part of a small, busy team, which is pivotal in the correct processing of Customers' orders and enquiries.
You will:
- Provide technical input and parts identification for spare part enquiries, both routine, outage or recommended spares lists.
- Work on projects with UK Defence customers, which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance.
- Specify quality requirements for all components.
- Create Bill of Materials and produce Material Masters within our ERP System (PowerMax).
- Receive and process PLM Production Orders for third party supply.
- Identify and initiate technical documentation and PLM part updates to ensure our SPOT is correct to modern practice.
- Be the first point of contact within Engineering to address technical questions from suppliers of parts purchased through the third party supply chain.
Qualifications:
- Qualified to HNC level (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline or alternatively have completed a technician apprenticeship.
- Previous knowledge or experience of steam turbines would be advantageous but not essential.
- Working knowledge of SAP systems, preferably Powermax.
- Working knowledge of APC-RPDM would be advantageous but not essential.
- Manufacturing knowledge would be highly beneficial.
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge of Alstom Steam Turbine legacy fleet and GE Power Generation Services fleet and customer base would be beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a small team.
