As a Resource Manager, you will be at the heart of ensuring our field teams are ready to deliver exceptional service. Your focus will be on assigning employees to jobs based upon their skills, abilities, availability, and squad performance to maximize the effectiveness of the squad. You will serve as the employees' primary point of contact regarding training, mobilisation, pay, and assignments and ensure that all employees are current on training and performance reviews. Where applicable, you will oversee a specific employee base and work with clients to help facilitate business needs and requests for their customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that a structured plan for technician development is ready for the recruitment process.
- Recruitment of the best technical resources for the Field Service Craft Team to develop a squad centric mentality.
- Assign employees to jobs based upon their skills, abilities, availability, and performance to maximize the effectiveness of the squad.
- Oversee all aspects of field employee management, including contracts, performance evaluations, training, job assignments, mobilization, and daily support.
- Act as the primary contact for addressing concerns regarding training, mobilization, pay, and assignments and resolve concerns or conflicts.
- Assess employee readiness statuses by incorporating multiple factors including Scheduler Workload, bench retainers, Break-In-Service, and Work Time Regulations.
- Evaluate the demand vs. capacity and ensure the availability of internal or external proficient resources to meet the business demand.
- Partner with administrative team and the Immigration support to complete necessary immigration documents and ensure employees are clear for travel.
- Ensure that the employees have up to date fitness reviews.
- Validate squad composition with events team for upcoming projects, assembling well balanced squads to optimize performance using multiple insightful data sources.
- Evaluate customer feedback and post-outage data to determine ways to improve future customer satisfaction, resource utilisation, and reduce costs.
- Actively involved in the LEAN process.
- Participate in talent development review processes to retain top talent.
- Training reviews and coordinate with training providers internal and external to ensure development of the team.
- Coordinate with EHS to ensure employees are up to date on required EHS training.
- Ensure regular team briefings are performed, driving the SQDC Safety, Quality Delivery and Cost principle.
- Ensure current employee training records and certificates are uploaded to appropriate systems.
- Review employee expense claims and ensure compliance to the UK T&L policy and drive costs down.
- Review and approve employee timesheets, holiday, mobilization/demobilization, sick leave, paid time off requests.
- Visit site and perform regular senior manager safety inspections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Extensive experience managing and developing teams.
- Expertise in power generation, technical industries, or a similar field.
- Strong knowledge of turbine and generator products.
- Exceptional project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in English.
- Travel to and from power plant projects will be required.

- Proven ability to work efficiently under time-sensitive deadlines without direct supervision.
