The NDT & Testing Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing all non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection activities within a manufacturing environment.
This role ensures product integrity, compliance with industry standards, and continuous improvement of testing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the NDT and testing teams, including training, performance management, and development.
- Develop, implement, and maintain testing procedures and standards in line with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Provide guidance and mentoring for NDT personnel at all levels.
- Oversee inspection and testing of materials, components, and finished products.
- to select NDT methods, establish NDT techniques, and assist in establishing acceptance criteria where none are otherwise available.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e. g., ISO, ASME, ASTM, EN).
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Manage equipment calibration, maintenance, and procurement.
- Conduct audits and support external inspections and certifications.
- Analyze testing data and generate reports for management and customers.
- Drive continuous improvement and CAPEX initiatives for testing processes.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance in all testing activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- Extensive experience in NDT/testing within a manufacturing environment.
- Certified in relevant NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT, VT) – Level II or III preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency with testing equipment and inspection technologies.

This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance, be a British Citizen and working or have residency in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
