This role is critical to ensuring efficient material flow, accurate stock management, and strong operational support across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to the successful delivery of strategic projects such as CCR (New Naval).
Key Responsibilities
- Goods Receiving & Dispatch
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against delivery documentation.
- Accurately process goods receipt and issue transactions within SAP.
- Identify and report discrepancies, damaged, or non-conforming goods.
- Support packing, labelling, and dispatch activities, including bespoke packaging solutions.
- Stock Control & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records for both company-owned and consigned stock.
- Perform regular cycle counts and annual stock checks.
- Monitor, control, and optimise stock levels to meet operational and project needs.
- Ensure correct storage conditions (including COSHH, cold storage, and long-term storage where applicable).
- Materials Issuing & Production Support
- Pick, issue, and deliver materials to internal customers in a timely manner.
- Provide direct support to production teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Assist production with improvement initiatives, material availability, and housekeeping activities.
- Maintain traceability and accurate system transactions for all issued materials.
- Warehouse Operations & Handling
- Operate forklifts, cranes, and other handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload vehicles in line with safety and operational procedures.
- Organise warehouse areas to maximise efficiency and accessibility.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping using 5S principles.
- Continuous Improvement & Lean Activities
- Actively support and participate in all lean and continuous improvement activities across the business.
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics, stock control, and material flow processes.
- Contribute to efficiency, waste reduction, and process optimisation initiatives.
- Project Support (Including CCR – New Naval Project)
- Support logistics and stock control requirements for key business projects.
- Contribute to all activities that enable the successful delivery of the CCR (New Naval) project.
- Ensure project materials are correctly controlled, tracked, and available when required.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote and maintain a Safety First culture at all times.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and regulations.

- Ensure safe handling, storage, and transport of all materials.
- General Support Duties
- Assist wider logistics and maintenance teams as required.
- Repack, label, and rework materials where necessary.

Key Skills & Experience
- Essential
- Proven experience in logistics, warehouse, or stock control environments.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP (goods receipt, goods issue, inventory control).
- Valid Forklift Truck licence.
- Strong understanding of stock management processes and procedures.
- Good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.

- Overhead crane licence.
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
