As a Senior Academic Staff Member (SASM), you will lead the design and delivery of courses across Business programmes from Level 5 to Level 9. You will ensure learning outcomes are achieved to a high standard that meets or exceeds the expectations of students and stakeholders. This role may also involve creating additional learning resources, diagnostic and progress assessment tools, and supervising students undertaking industry projects. You will provide leadership to a small team of academic staff members, supporting consistent and highâquality programme delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver inspiring Business programmes across Levels 5â9.
- Use your teaching qualification for highâquality teaching delivery.
- Apply industry expertise and contribute to an established team.
- Ensure learning outcomes are achieved to a high standard that meets or exceeds the expectations of students and stakeholders.
- Create additional learning resources, diagnostic and progress assessment tools, and supervise students undertaking industry projects.
- Provide leadership to a small team of academic staff members, supporting consistent and highâquality programme delivery.
Qualifications
- Expertise sought in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Operations Management, Applied Management.
- A postâgraduate qualification in a related area.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience in adult teaching in a tertiary or vocational education context.
- Experience in or willingness to embed kaupapa and mÄtauranga MÄori within teaching and learning curriculum and activities, including assessment and experiences.
- A genuine willingness and ability to actively contribute to the collaborative culture of the Portfolio of Business and English.
- Vision, creativity, and a strong commitment to supporting personal growth as well as the learning of others.
- Demonstrated capability in guiding and supporting students to successfully achieve their learning outcomes.
- Ability to design and deliver flexible teaching and learning approaches, including the effective use of learning technologies.
- Strong timeâmanagement skills, with the ability to efficiently administer, organise, coordinate activities, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Active engagement with assessment and feedback processes to support student learning.
- Wellâdeveloped digital literacy, including competence with Microsoft Office products, learner management systems, AI tools and other technologyâbased teaching and learning tools as required.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work confidently with a diverse range of people at all levels, both within and outside the organisation.
