A Leading FM Contractor is looking for a Head of Commercial to develop and implement a national commercial strategy that achieves business unit goals and objectives. You will:

  • Manage a medium sized commercial team supporting contract delivery.
  • Work closely with work winning teams, reviewing contracts and identifying risks.
  • On contract award negotiate final subcontractor agreements, warranties and performance bonds.
  • Lead the mobilisation of new contracts, ensuring operational teams understand contract requirements.
  • Lead contract delivery, contract reviews and risk management.
  • Support month end financial reporting and business unit performance reviews.
  • Be part of the senior leadership team, presenting reports to Directors.
  • Manage senior internal stakeholders' commercial requirements.
  • Work closely with procurement colleagues, implementing strategies.
  • Work with peers from other business units to ensure that group wide commercial activities are aligned.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a national commercial function and further develop the department. Great opportunity for a Commercial Manager looking for progression to step up into this head of function job. You will be part of the senior leadership team for a high profile top 10 FM Contractor. You will be joining at a great time as this contractor is in year 1 of a 5 year growth cycle that will offer further personal and team development opportunities.

This is a hands on leadership role, together with leading the team and creating commercial strategies, you will be actively involved with work winning, mobilisation and the delivery of contracts. Managing a portfolio of c40 live facilities services contracts, mainly Hard FM, MEP planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, with some soft services. Clients are based nationally and range across blue chip companies, public sector organisations and SMEs.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering the commercial requirements for FM / PPM contracts.
  • Minimum of 10+ years commercial experience for FM Contractors.
  • Ideally you will currently be working as a Head of Commercial, or as an experienced Commercial Manager who is looking for career progression.
  • Must have experience of leading and developing small to medium sized commercial teams.
  • Strong contract knowledge and legal awareness.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at director level.
  • Highly resilient, with gravitas and strength of character to ensure strategies are successfully delivered.
  • Relevant commercial degree or RICS is desirable.
