A & R Miles Limited is a well-established and growing construction and renovation company based in Bath. Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Estimator to join our team and play a key role in the continued growth of the business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be involved in projects from start to finish and work closely with the Director, site managers and operatives in a dynamic SME environment.
The Role:
- You will be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially sound quotations across a wide range of renovation and general building works, including bathrooms, kitchens, refurbishments, extensions, insurance repairs and planned maintenance.
- The role involves full involvement from initial site visit through to project completion and final accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out site visits and prepare detailed estimates and quotations.
- Measure, scope and price works accurately from drawings and surveys.
- Liaise with clients, managing agents and insurers professionally.
- Work closely with site teams once projects are live to manage costs and variations.
- Prepare and agree variations and final accounts.
- Support the Director and wider team with commercial input and forecasting.
About You:
- Proven experience as an Estimator within general construction/renovation.
- Strong technical knowledge of building works and refurbishment projects.
- Commercially aware with the ability to protect margins and manage risk.
- Organised, accurate and able to manage multiple quotations at once.
- Confident dealing with clients and building strong working relationships.
- Ambitious and keen to grow with a developing business.
