A & R Miles Limited is a growing construction and renovation company based in Bath. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated, experienced Estimator to join our expanding team. This is a hands-on estimating role with full involvement in projects from initial enquiry through to completion, working closely alongside two other experienced estimators, the Director and the delivery teams. You will be responsible for managing the estimating process end-to-end, ensuring smooth handover into live projects and supporting delivery throughout the job lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations
- Attending site visits and carrying out surveys to assess the scope of works
- Pricing labour, materials, subcontractors and plant
- Preparing tenders and written quotations
- Working collaboratively with the estimating team on workload and pricing strategy
- Supporting projects from the tender stage through to start on site and completion
- Assisting with variations, re-pricing and ongoing commercial input during live projects
- Liaising with clients, surveyors, insurers, suppliers and site managers
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience as an Estimator / Assistant Quantity Surveyor within construction or refurbishment
- Has a genuine passion for the construction industry and enjoys being involved in projects from start to finish
- Has a positive, can-do attitude and is highly motivated and driven
- Is commercially aware with excellent attention to detail
- Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team in a growing SME environment
- Is proactive, reliable and keen to develop their career
Experience across renovations, extensions, kitchens, bathrooms, planned maintenance, insurance works, or damp & timber would be highly beneficial.
