Team Leader to join a busy transport and logistics operation in Mirfield.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll coordinate the day-to-day running of the yard while supporting the shunter team to keep trailers moving safely and efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in transport, logistics or yard operations who is looking for a long‑term career with full training and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

The Role

As a

Team Leader , you'll oversee daily yard movements, coordinate the shunter team, and work closely with the warehouse, production and transport departments to ensure trailers are moved safely and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the shunter team.
  • Plan and manage trailer movements across the site.
  • Maintain accurate trailer tracking and operational records.
  • Liaise with warehouse, production and transport teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure all transport procedures and health & safety standards are followed.

  • Previous experience as a Team Leader, Yard Supervisor or within a transport/logistics environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Confident leading a team and managing day-to-day operations.
  • Good IT skills and a professional telephone manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
