About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Sales Engineer to join our clients growing team within the valve industry. This permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with an engineering or technical background who enjoys working in a commercial environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing customer enquiries, preparing technical quotations, and supporting the supply and sales process for valve solutions. You will act as a vital link between customers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming customer enquiries and provide technical and commercial support.
  • Check available stock and identify suitable valve solutions to meet client requirements.
  • Prepare accurate sales quotations, including pricing and delivery information.
  • Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of supplier quotations to ensure compliance with client specifications.
  • Carry out contract reviews for new orders and supply activities.
  • Raise purchase requisitions for procurement of materials and components.
  • Produce pick lists and work instructions for production teams.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure materials and orders are delivered on time.
  • Provide technical support and assist with resolving QA issues related to incoming or outgoing goods.
  • Maintain accurate records using company ERP systems and documentation processes.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Support additional duties as required to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in a sales, engineering, or technical support role (valve industry experience desirable but not essential).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using ERP systems.
  • Ability to review and interpret technical specifications and commercial requirements.
