Role Overview: As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving electrical systems and machinery across our production facility. You will play a key role in ensuring that the plant runs efficiently and safely, with minimal downtime. This is a hands-on position, ideal for engineers with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical equipment, machinery, and systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults across a wide range of equipment, including PLCs, motors, drives, and control panels.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to improve plant performance and reliability.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the optimization of machinery and processes.
Requirements:
Essential:
- 17th or 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with PLCs, drives, motors, control systems, and other electrical components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (days and nights).
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards of safety and quality.
Desirable:
- Experience in the plastic manufacturing industry (not essential but beneficial).
- Knowledge of other maintenance disciplines (mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics).
