We are working with a well-established manufacturing business based in the LS10 area to recruit a skilled Maintenance Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded engineer seeking a busy, safety-focused environment with opportunities for career progression.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the site's plant and machinery. Your expertise will be essential to maintaining smooth operations and improving equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned maintenance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Diagnose faults and perform reactive maintenance efficiently
- Install and repair plant and equipment following safety standards
- Collaborate with other departments on maintenance projects
- Ensure all tasks comply with health and safety regulations
About You
You will hold a mechanical apprenticeship and relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent. Essential mechanical skills include:
- Welding and metal fabrication
- Conveyors, pulleys, gearboxes, and driveshafts
- Pumps and electric motors
- Fault finding with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Basic machine shop skills
- Experience with overhead gantry cranes is advantageous
- Electrical competence is a bonus
