We are currently recruiting for experienced MIG Welders to join a well-established steel fabrication and manufacturing business based in Carnaby. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, regular overtime and the chance to secure a permanent position with a growing manufacturer. You'll be working within a busy production environment, manufacturing high-quality fabricated steel products for a variety of industrial and construction sectors.
The Role
As a MIG Welder, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality welds while working from engineering drawings and fabrication specifications. Key duties include:
- MIG welding stainless steel and mild steel components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Preparing materials for welding, including grinding, cleaning and fit-up
- Inspecting completed welds to ensure quality standards are met
- Carrying out basic fabrication and assembly work when required
- Working to production schedules and customer specifications
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area
- Following company health, safety and quality procedures
What We're Looking For
- Previous MIG welding experience within a manufacturing, engineering or fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience welding stainless steel and mild steel
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and hardworking with a positive attitude
- Flexible to work overtime when required
Desirable Experience
- MIG/MAG welding experience
- Welding qualifications or coding certifications
- Experience within structural steel, heavy fabrication or bespoke manufacturing
- Experience working to recognised quality standards
