The College wishes to appoint a permanent Learning Support Assistant (Mainstream) to support students with learning difficulties and disabilities to access the curriculum and succeed in their courses, primarily on A Level or Level 3 BTEC courses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one‑to‑one or small group support to students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Assist students in developing skills to access the curriculum and succeed on their courses.
  • Co‑operate with teachers and other support staff to plan and deliver learning support.
  • Maintain accurate records of support provided and progress.

Qualifications & skills

  • Innovative, enthusiastic and motivated to support students.
  • Meet the appropriate person specification (as per Sixth Form Colleges’ Association Support Staff Pay Scale).
  • Experience of supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities preferable.

Requirements and Conditions

  • Commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
