The Role
As Catering Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of a high-volume, cost-effective catering service. You will:
- Lead, motivate, and direct the front-of-house and kitchen catering team.
- Drive menu innovation to deliver healthy, high-quality, and affordable meals for students and staff.
- Manage stock, supplier relationships, food costs, and food hygiene compliance (HACCP / Health & Safety).
About You
- Proven experience as a Catering Manager, Head Chef, or Operations Supervisor in a high-volume environment (commercial, corporate, or educational).
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing kitchen/service teams.
- Sound understanding of food safety, health and safety compliance, and budget control.
- A customer-focused approach and a passion for great food.

Working hours
7.00 am – 3.00 pm Monday – Friday (30 minutes unpaid break) Total hours 37. Occasional hospitality etc may require some flexibility.
There are currently ten catering staff including the Catering Manager post, Assistant Cook, Supervisor and Catering Assistants.

In 2010, we moved into new £42M premises with modern catering and dining facilities. Aquinas has over 2500 full time 16-19 year old students with approximately 118 full time equivalent (FTE) teaching staff and 55 FTE support staff. The college building includes kitchen areas professionally designed to the very highest standard.
