Summary of Primary Job Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, install, and commission door entry, access control, and warden call systems across a diverse client portfolio.
- Ensure safety, compliance, and high-quality service delivery while providing exceptional customer service and accurate documentation.

Typical Qualifications
- Education: No specific requirement; Technical qualifications desirable (e.g., NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition).
- Experience: 3–5 years hands-on experience with door entry, access control, or warden/nurse call systems; Experience with at least two system types required.
- Skills: Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities; Installation and commissioning skills; Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics; Proficiency with configuration software; Understanding of IP-based systems and networking.
- Knowledge / Abilities: Knowledge of wiring regulations and safety standards; Ability to integrate CCTV, fire alarms, and BMS; Strong customer service and communication skills; Able to work independently across multiple sites; Effective time management and prioritisation.
- Special Certifications: CSCS card; Health & Safety training; Asbestos Awareness; Manual Handling; Manufacturer training (Paxton, Tynetec, Tunstall, Comelit); First Aid (desirable).

- Regular travel to client sites across healthcare, housing, commercial, and residential sectors.
- Participation in on-call rota required.
Essential Functions
- System Maintenance & Repair: Maintain and repair door entry, access control, and warden call systems. Service intercoms, proximity readers, biometric access, magnetic locks, electric strikes, and nurse call components. Deliver reactive and planned maintenance. (40%)
- Technical Problem-Solving: Diagnose faults, perform firmware updates, resets, configurations, battery replacements, and multi-component fault finding. Upgrade and optimise systems. (20%)
- Installation & Commissioning: Install and commission new systems, conduct site surveys, design solutions, and verify system functionality. Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and client specifications. (20%)
- Client Service: Attend client sites, provide end-user training, maintain accurate service records, deliver excellent customer service, and participate in the on-call rota. (10%)
- Compliance & Quality: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintain documentation, uphold workmanship standards, and support continuous improvement. (10%)
