What You’ll Do
- Lead and quality-assure an external managed-service team supporting operational automations and AI solutions.
- Manage the intake, prioritisation and resolution of incidents, defects and platform issues, ensuring SLA and ITIL-aligned service standards are met.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of live automations, including Power Platform flows, RPA bots (ServiceNow/Blue Prism), Alteryx workflows, Logic Apps and AI agents.
- Manage operational schedules, job queues, bot controllers, runbooks, orchestrations and environment health.
- Analyse recurring failures, lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve stability and resilience.
- Ensure proactive monitoring using observability tools such as Application Insights, Azure Monitor and RPA consoles.
- Work closely with Architecture, Platform, Integration and Engineering teams to resolve environment, connector, access and dependency issues, and support enhancements and change requests.
- Own operational change processes, including approvals, deployment coordination, regression testing, communications and rollback planning.
- Coordinate patching across RPA infrastructure, connectors, gateways, Logic Apps and Power Platform environments.
- Maintain version control, operational documentation, SOPs, runbooks, incident logs, maintenance plans and audit evidence.
- Provide clear reporting on incident trends, platform health, automation reliability and improvement opportunities.
- Support regulatory reporting through accurate tracking of automation outcomes, incidents and performance.
- Drive continuous improvement across operational processes, tooling, dashboards and support models, including recommendations for automation retirement, consolidation or redesign.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- Significant experience in automation operations, platform support or IT operations.
- Strong experience supporting Power Platform, RPA and/or Azure solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across automation, integration and workflow technologies.
- Strong understanding of incident management, operational resilience and the impact of automation engineering decisions on live services.
- Experience managing or improving an external managed-service or vendor operations team.
- Ability to interpret logs, telemetry, monitoring dashboards, API traces and system run histories.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across business, technical and vendor audiences.
- Experience with Power Automate, connectors and Power Platform environment management.
- Experience running RPA platforms such as ServiceNow RPA or Blue Prism, including bot controllers, queues and runtime scheduling.
- Knowledge of Azure services including Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, Key Vault and monitoring tools.
- Good understanding of DLP, RBAC, identity management, audit, logging and secure cloud/automation operations.
- Awareness of regulatory requirements relating to operational resilience.
- Understanding of enterprise systems such as Maximo, GIS/ArcGIS, Workday, ServiceNow or SAP.
Desirable
- Relevant certifications such as PL-400, PL-600, AZ-104, Blue Prism ROM/Support, ServiceNow RPA or ITIL v4.
- Experience with Application Insights, Splunk, Dynatrace or Azure Monitor.
- Understanding of AI solution monitoring, including model drift, prompt behaviour and telemetry.
- Experience with Alteryx Server/Designer, Foundry pipelines or Copilot agent management.
- Familiarity with data governance, including Purview, Databricks integration patterns and enterprise API dependencies.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work occasional out-of-hours windows for releases, patching or critical incidents.
- Comfortable working in a vendor-managed, multi-supplier environment.
