Role Overview
This role encompasses strategic ideation and creative content development, including writing long-form features, breaking news articles and quizzes. The position is responsible for publishing content within the CMS and programming key areas of the website to ensure an engaging and high-quality fan experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and help shape monthly editorial planning by using performance data and audience insights to recommend content opportunities across evergreen editorial, franchise tentpoles and partner marketing campaigns for manager review.
- Create original editorial content while maintaining a strong understanding of the existing content library, proactively resurfacing or updating content based on audience needs and performance insights.
- Contribute ideas for new content formats and approaches, informed by cultural and digital trends, audience behaviour and previous performance.
- Write and develop editorial content for the website, including features, news articles and quizzes designed to engage fans of all levels.
- Provide copywriting support for special projects and new website features as required.
- Support content approvals by coordinating with TBP, internal stakeholders and Legal, ensuring editorial intent is maintained while meeting COPPA and HFSS requirements.
- Build and publish articles and quizzes within the website CMS, completing all necessary steps to ensure accurate and timely publication, including support for monthly profile page updates.
- Source approved imagery and video assets from designated content libraries to support editorial requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date content records within Airtable.
- Occasionally conduct short interviews and gather coverage at live events, producing timely content under the guidance of the manager.
- Monitor content performance on an ongoing basis, helping to track benchmarks and share insights that inform future content planning.
- Collaborate with Social and CRM teams to ensure alignment across content plans and support content amplification activities.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the client's brand and editorial style guidelines, providing informed recommendations for updates where appropriate and ensuring all content adheres to established standards.
Decision-Making Responsibilities
- Support planning and alignment across web, social and CRM content to maximise cross-platform impact and audience engagement.
- Independently develop approved content concepts, including writing, asset selection and CMS implementation.
- Monthly content and programming plans, including prioritisation of features, quizzes and resurfaced content.
- Significant changes to programming cadence, editorial strategy or article best practices.
- Final copy approval for tentpole monthly features, weekly quizzes and Tier 1 partner content.
Qualifications and Experience
Work Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in an editorial role.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively and professionally with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle several projects simultaneously.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
- Experience using Airtable.
- Strong working knowledge of content management systems for creating, editing and publishing digital content.
