Our client seeks a versatile and creative writer to join the Product Merchandising team. This is a 6 month contract remote based role , you must be based in the UK, paying £45p/h PAYE starting ASAP.
- In this role, you’ll help members navigate a sea of content by summarizing movies and television shows with concise, creative and engaging synopses.
- This role is perfect for an entertainment obsessed generalist who is passionate about content and storytelling, loves to ideate on language and thrives on collaborative editing cycles.
- This requires a writer who can tackle many assignments with enough creative energy to make each synopsis sing.
- The ideal candidate is a skilled writer/editor who is an expert on media and entertainment in at least one of the Benelux, German speaking or Central Eastern European markets — we are particularly interested in writers who have proven proficiency in writing and editing world-class creative content in English and German, Dutch or Polish.
- Additional knowledge of other European markets is also a benefit.

- This position will be a remote, 6 month (subject to certain conditions), full-time contract, expected to work approximately 40 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
- Write synopses about German, Polish and Dutch movies and TV shows in English.
- A typical day might include writing a number of synopses a week — everything from the latest reality TV show, to a high-budget historical drama series or pitch-perfect rom com.
- Work closely with a Writing Strategist to ensure that your copy meets the needs of the writing brief and the needs of the market
- Embody editorial principles to create accurate, inclusive and creative synopses that are nuanced enough to resonate with different audiences.
Requirements:
- Full native proficiency in English
- Full native proficiency in Dutch, Polish or German
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Knowledge of other European Languages other than those listed not essential but highly desired as an addition to English
- Experience writing synopses for streamers and broadcasters.
- Editing articles, blog posts, reviews, or feature stories about film and TV
- Mastery of AP style and attention to detail
- Research skills to help you gather context about titles and quickly synthesize information from a variety of sources
- A selfless approach to contributing to a world-class editorial team
